Our History

Testimony was founded in the year 2017  by Violet Ogutu, who doubles up as the CEO and founder. She initially started Testimony as an initiative for visiting children homes on a monthly basis just to share with the children some motivation and little pleasantries such as food, clothing, school appliances & sanitary towels. The initiative continued smoothly until 2019  when covid 19 pandemic unfortunately struck and shut down everything all over the world..Due to the pandemic and being that it was highly contagious, the government prohibited any visit to any institution so the initiative had no option but to halt all of its operations up to the year 2020.

In 2021 when the initiative had resumed its operations,God delivered a clear vision to the founder/CEO in 2021..She had a whole year praying diligently and asking God for more direction concerning this initiative,so she just went ahead with the routine giving of food stuff and clothing to the  less previllage as she waited on the lord for directions. Finally at around 4:00 pm 11th December 2021,she encountered God's manifestation and revelation about the vision and wrote it down.

In the year 2022 Kenya was hit by a severe drought and famine which spread across all the nation, but the most affected regions were Kilifi, Kajiado and Turkana...So it was at this period that one of the children went viral crying in class due to intense hunger(lack of food),that sad incident prompted& compelled Testimony CBO CEO to create a charity Whatsapp group immediately in partnership with some youths from Taita Taveta county, and from there they planned a visit to the school where the viral crying child was learning, which was Kavunzoni primary  school located at Bamba region in Kwale County Kenya.

Then next was from Kajiado County where not only people were dying due to famine but also their livestock were affected and perishing as much,so Violet Ogutu acted  out of compassion and empathy and visited people of the region giving them food and drinks to revive their hopes of living..On her way back from the mission, the book of Job 29:15 that says "I was eyes to the blind, foot to the lame and I was father to poor"  kept ringing in her mind and made her restless not knowing which message God was trying to pass across to her, until she posted on her wall that next mission is to bless people with disability, then it became clear to her that surely that was the calling.

After around two weeks, that was 15th Dec 2022,she visited people with disability in Bamba area again at the office of the area MCA,but there was one of them who was quite elderly and couldn't make to come to the office. So she went personally to her place and was so shocked finding an old widowed woman having an old wretched house without even beddings to lie on,this touched her heart so deep that she made a promise to God she'll have to go back there with full beddings for the woman, and by God's grace it came to pass,so on 28th Dec she returned back to Bamba with beddings leaving the woman all smiles and rejoicing stating that " for the first time I'm going to enjoy a good sleep on a comfortable bed with warm blanket"

One day, again, on the way to Bamba for a different mission, she  met one man Abdalla, and he introduced himself to her enquiring about where she was going .After telling him where she was headed and on what mission, the man also made a visit request to his home saying he also has two  children with disability and they have never been to school(one aged 19 years and another 13 years). So they  exchanged contacts and she promised him a visit.

In January 2023, she visited the children at kafuduni Mwavumbo Ward, and the situation was shocking. One was mentally challenged, and another had multiple disabilities. After all the narration, the testimony CEO promised to take them to school, but deep within she didn't have any clue on how she will get the resources to facilitate their schooling, but by the grace of God,by  February Rajab was admitted to school. And that's how she got the name. Testimony since it was a big testimony to her.

First of all it was her very first direct interaction with people living with disability yet  she managed, and second God provided everything and both of the kids were admitted to school, that was indeed a huge miracle and testimony...After that the cases started rising in the area of Mwavumbo ward,so they  did a research and discovered there was a massive shortage of NGOs focusing on people living with disability in Samburu Sub county in Kwale County and that steered the idea of registering as a CBO on 25th April 2023.

From the day of registration, Testimony CBO has been actively operational and carrying out different missions with the help of well wishers who come through to help facilitate the missions.
